Is Reggie Bush the Truth?

After watching the game last night on the biggest weekly stage in the NFL, I have to officially say yes.. He returned two punts for Touchdowns and had a third that would have gone for 6 as well, if he hadn't tripped himself up. That is the very definition of game changer or play maker. Bush has gotten a lot of flack because he isn't a 35 rush a game pounder in between the tackles ala a AP or Emmitt Smith etc. End of the day, you spend a #2 pick on a player at a skill position, you are looking for them to be able to do two key things. First, you are looking for them to excel on and off the field, which, short of his college issues, Bush has done. He is not adept at pounding the rock in a 3 yards and a cloud of dust OFF but in this OFF with this QB and coach, he is improving at the runs between the tackles and he still has that big play ability that is just God-given and not taught. Secondly, they want a skill position player that they spend that early of a draft pick on to put fans in the seats. Mission accomplished there, everytime he touches the ball, I caught myself watching intently and taking in a sharp intake of breath because you just never know when he is going to do something spectacular.

The Saints lost the game last night to the Vikings, in large part due to a HUGE game by Antoine Winfield of the Vikings but Reggie Bush still won over some of his nay sayers, myself included. End of the day, he may not be a Devin Hester, in my book he is a lot more.
